The following new features are included in Client SDK and IConnect 3.50.xC6:

  • Installing IBM Data Server Driver
    • When you install Client SDK or IConnect, you have the option to install IBM Data Server Driver version 9.7. For more information, see the Client Products Installation Guide.
    • Important: If you plan to use IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio version 9.7, do not use this option. Install IBM Data Server Driver alone and then install IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio. The products Client SDK and IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio version 9.7 are not compatible.
  • IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio No Longer Packaged with CSDK (Windows only)
    • IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio is no longer installed with Client SDK or IConnect. For more information on how to access IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio for download and installation, see the Client Products Installation Guide.

Two new connection attributes can improve performance for some operations: Single Threaded and Skip Parsing.
Multiple levels of savepoints are supported.
You can install Dynamic Server, Client Software Development Kit (Client SDK), and Informix Connect on Mac OS X without any user interaction after you launch the "silent" installation application. Previously, silent installation was available only on other operating systems that support Dynamic Server.
You can install both the 32-bit and 64-bit Client SDK or IConnect products on a Windows 64-bit operating system.
